I liked this episode, hopefully they're getting back on track towards the DD we all knew and loved 😏

Oh they will follow the novel, but it will be based on main points and most likely heavily changed. There are only 30 episodes left though, so hopefully no filler episodes. I cant really blame the studio since the the last arc was rush and many of the details werent explained well like the early chapters and predictable plot twist that tried to make everyone look like a nice character so you end up with no real villain, or what TJSS was attempting lol

- The new emperor's massive mistake that caused a lot of soldiers to die
- Out of control poison mist created by Poison Douluo
- The war between the empires vs Martial Spirit Hall empire (yeah they changed their name)
- The appearance of the top elders of Martial Spirit Hall and the fight with them
- Bibi Dong is injured and had to retreat, power struggle between Bibi Dong's group and Qian Daoliu's group (although he doesnt
directly interfere, the studio might change that
- The appearance of the elders loyal to Qian Daoliu and Renxue and then the fight with them
- Return to Sea God Island for the final trial (yes still one more trial left)
- Sacrifice of Bo Saixi, and a little bit of background about Tang San's great grandfather - he died
- The choice of becoming Sea God or Asura God
- The fight between Tang San vs Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong
- Confession by Bibi Dong why she did what she did
- The End, yup that is it, and they live hap- hmm I mean we live in question what the hell just happened
- Soul Land 2 - The Unrivaled Sect series will start

I have to say, Mr/s Dase, you've really written a lot for this series. I can really tell your love for this series. Is there a release date for the second DD? Or is it just going to release one week after the final episode of this one?

While there is no official word on when it will be released I believe it will be released after Soul Land 1 has ended, whether they release a few episodes during the first week then back to one episode a week is unknown at this point, seeing that they have been developing Soul Land 2 since at least last year August it wouldnt be too far fetch to say a few episodes during the first week then one episode thereafter since they would have a lot of episodes already completed.

If I am not wrong, Soul Land and Swallowed Star will end around the same time in March 2023, so the studio will put up Soul Land 2 then

If I do find out more information when Soul Land 2 will be released you can be sure I will post it for everyone to know , well those who wants to know lol

lol I come here because I feel safer here, I also watch the episode elsewhere (Chinese sites) I would go to other sites to comment, but I find that some of the established readers really dont like a new person posting comments, correction when this person brings along their followers (before I had my profile turned private) and suddenly the established readers gets out-upvoted, and I end up with people downvoting me or even accusing me of having other accounts to vote myself lol I dont really like confrontation or to insult others so I try to stay away from other sites now lol

They were here before, but they usually target the lesser viewed donghuas, like Against the Sky Supreme, Peerless Martial Spirit a month or so back. They tried going to the anime section, oh boy bad mistake, cause a few of those upvote addicts will not tolerate someone with 200+ upvotes in the first hour compared with the next person of 20+ votes lol

The spambotters are getting smarter lol I used to report them whenever I see them, now they use other bots to reply to their spam saying "thanks for the link" or "wow I will check it out" Not hard to see that they are the same botter, they have few posting comments and thousands of upvotes plus what they post are the same, spamming links or saying thank you lol

And gotten wise with using the private feature as well 😤
I still downvote the main comment and report them all the same (both comment + account('s'))

I do that as well lol, I have to report them as spam for their posts and account. The more people report them, the higher chance they have of getting their accounts banned, all those efforts to boost their upvote counts - gone lol

I usually won't really harp on it if ending with a little bit of confusion, but it sounds like you're talking about a whole other level... haha

lol normally with novels, sometimes you get an ending that isnt what you expect, sometimes it leaves you with an open ending so you can interpret however you want it, and sometimes it leaves you confused and have to read it a billion times in the hopes it will make sense eventually. Soul Land's ending is like this, simply put imagine today's episode is the final episode. :) that is how the actual ending feels like :)

You forgot two very common endings... the most horrible ones, lol

- Author loses the will to write because of lack of readers and in good case he writes shortest ending where nothing but main plot is resolved... in bad case he doesn't write anything and novel is scrapped
- Author was already so exaggerating in powers and dimensions from the start that he completely loses track in how to proceed, so nothing makes sense anymore (in next power increase accidental fart would destroy whole universe, not just planet or galaxy and speed of travel becomes so fast that travelling across the universe happens in mere moments and yet they still travel longer and longer. Same size problem is with monsters and rooms)

Wow, you know everything what gonna ahead in donghua, though I never read any Manga or Manhua but after seeing you I think I should try one out. So I don't need to wait for every Saturday.

Read the novel, most manhuas are rated general, aimed at teenagers and below and a lot of mature content is removed, so what you get is a cutdown version of the novel. This is why on occasion the donghua will look similar to the manhua, besides the novel explains in more detail
Personally I would suggest you read Seal of Throne or Land of Miracles, since both just started and are new, Soul Land is nearing it's end so it isnt really worth reading unless you really want to know what will happen in the next 30 episodes (which of course will be subjected to changes by the studio)

You can read the novels at noveupdate, wuxiaworld or novelfull. There are others but I read from Qidian and various Chinese sites.

I remember reading all these events, how do they intend to add all these in 30 episodes, i can definitely imagine the whole rush, argggggh, I can’t believe there would be a time I wouldn’t be following soul land weekly, that was how offended and bored I felt by the whole turn of events after they went off track, today’s episodes is my favourite and it’s been ages, and I hope we keep up the pacing, and it’s that abrupt ending I am avoiding, till today I still can’t remember how the whole novel ended and am I the only one that couldn’t relate with bibi dong, I understand the first section of her reasons, but I was thrown off at the second section because why not destroy the sect that caused your pain, why are you trying to elevate the sect under your own name by destroying others that have nothing to do with your predicament before destroying the sect that hurts you yourself, or did I read her reasons wrong???, I have big issues with how they portray tang san’s rings as well, for a ring that is endowed with red rings, and him also having high quality soul bones, he still drags on fight that is meant to be dominated, I don’t mean this episode with sword king, but such was the case when he was fighting the chrysanthemum and others then

I have a strong feeling it will be just like the novel, rushed, and certainly some content will be removed, possibly Tang San and the Shrek stopping Chrysanthemum's sabotaging the armies' supply lines, and killing him will be short (I havent been watching the donghua either, so if he is killed off already, then oopsy lol) the ordinary soldier's fight being shortened, killing the demonic whale will probably be shortened so by cutting down certain events they will be able to fit everything in 30 episodes, unless they plan on extending it, but currently Tencent Video streaming and Douban has already set the number of the entire series at 250 episodes, like the novel, it will be finalised and we will have the same feeling it is somewhat incomplete

You are not the only one that feels this way about Bibi Dong I understand what TJSS was trying to do, but sadly he should have written an arc or two before the Sea God trials to establish and develop Bibi Dong's situation and slowly changed her from being an antagonistic villain to just a semi antagonist and gave us another villain, like making Qian Daoliu more prominent and evil, but because Bibi Dong didnt get that kind of development, the plot twist we encountered just felt flat and forced, it was like TJSS wanted no bad guys and every villain to be redeemed. I totally agree with you. Her cause wasnt just, the Hall's leader raped her and she killed him, takes over, and carries out the Hall's objective and destroys or kills everyone else, like Huh?? Wouldnt you want to destroy the Hall?? and everything it stand for? Even if she loved her daughter secretly and stayed in the Hall for her sake, why take up Hu Liena? Why treat your daughter like this? Just a convoluted attempt at a plot twist lol and of course the ending. It was like stay tune for the next sequel, only thing, it wasnt really a sequel, new character new story and tidbits of what happened to the Shrek, pffft

I guess it's kind of like how it's not unheard-of for a child who grew up being abused by their parent/parents to end up, either consciously or subconsciously, doing the exact same thing to their own child (even though they would've experienced firsthand how painful and traumatizing it is, having went through it themselves).

There's not a day that passes where I don't severely question the logic of at least something that somebody does however, so I guess it can just stand to the reality of how much different some people's minds process and act upon certain information/experiences compared to others.

But that being said, in this context of writing a story then I'd imagine a more understandable thinking for Bibi Dong maybe would've been better suited... That is of course unless the writer's aim always was to portray her as some kind of sociopath 😋

That is a very good example actually, how someone would become after a traumatic experience is really hard to predict.

Yeah but for the reveal at the end the impact of what she experienced and her reasoning for her actions, just didnt have the Oomph! in the story like you would with the redeeming of Anakin Skywalker, since there was a much bigger antagonist than him

Anyway off to Doupo Cangqiong episode 4, it came out two hour ago on Tencent so hopefully will be on gogo or other translated sites soon

I always felt bad for Bibi Dong, her character can be improved on, and I do understand what she went through with that horrific incident with the previous Pope, I think I mentioned before I had friends who went through similar situation and seeing them tears me up every time, sadly one of them is no longer with us. The action after can be a reason but it should have been the opposite, as in she would more than likely destroy the Martial Spirit Hall, since everything about it would remind her of that day, doing what TJSS wrote even though it is plausible seems unlikely unless she has Stockholm syndrome which isnt the case

I just hope the next 30 episodes will be well made, or the studio decide to make additional episodes beyond the 250 episodes indicated on their official streaming site.

It's tjss, ever since his wife passed away there's always been a clear and cut way he distinguished antagonist. That is why DD4 makes no sense at all and no point at all, should have been soul land 3 continued. And ROTS, should never have happened wait ROTS is soul land 1 he's already been rebirth.probably, the only villain who gets to redeem himself is di tian... You beast god di tian the last boss in DD2, the one who chase tang wulin away in dd3, the one who became lan xuanyu sou ring in DD4.

Oh I loved the period they went to sea god island as well in the novel, i enjoyed the whole dynamics, you know that period when there was this person the leaders were pushing to get the sea god title didn’t make it and he was so angry about what he went through and all, was it not that period tang san fifth ring that was given to him after rebirth got influenced by the xiao wu sacrificial sixth ring and changed to red, used to be my highlight, how could they deflate so badly from the novel argggh

Yes the animated part of the Sea God trials was pretty bad, the novel details it much better. The bantering, Oscar's 7th skill reveal was hilarious. Xiao Bai's constant helping the group inadvertently causing the Sea God's wrath was much better that what it was depicted in the donghua, and the fear of Tang San using the Ying Tang droplets on Xiao Bai was removed I believe

I personally feel, and I posted this before, just before the lockdown and the Sea God trials, I feel the scriptwriter moved to Soul Land 2 and left an amateur to write the final arc lol

Lol haha, why should he move season 2 when his amateur is fucking up 1, anyways, the least they could have done was given us a befitting season 1, money is not going to be a problem for them consider they were better even when they didn’t have money at the beginning, right now, they are making millions which means the quality and quantity should improve, not reduce, this is always the disadvantage after dramas blow up, they get really sloppy, is it an inherent trait people in this industry have!!!!

Could be a multiple number of reasons, some of the "rumours" are

- TJSS was about to hand over the rights to Soul Land 2 to another studio, so they had to pick it up and start work on it, TJSS started his own company to facilitate and handle all his IP work (This is evidenced by two of his works were given to two different studios recently

- The final arc in the novel is so meh that it doesnt matter what form the donghua's final arc will be lol
- Subscribers and followers will still watch it just so they know the final ending, they've come this far already, so why drop it?

I didn’t even bother looking up the sequel, I ain’t interested in it at all, the whole stress I got from soul land is enough, ep 1-100 in soul land remains my Favourite, that was the soul land and I was up and hearty for, I am certainly glad it’s about to end, it is well over-due, and I don’t think chrysanthemum is d*** yet, it’s his other partner that died if I am right, anyways like you said the writer probably wanted a redeeming factor for them hence why the ending was written that way, anyways I can’t wait to say goodbye to it, I would miss seeing you in the comment section though, oh do you have any donghua to recommend, I only follow this and martial master(wu Shen zhuzai)

I’ve watched over 10 of the animes that you listed and so far, only Doupo caught my eyes. Finished watching the entire series. It’s hot as fuk. The girl that’s in love with the MC that calls him Bro, I’m eager to find out about her clan and why she’s so powerful. Also, Medusa is literally the prettiest woman anime that I’ve seen.

Have you started on season 5? Doupo Cangqiong Nian Fan which comes after the special San Nian Zhi Yue?

Wudong Qiankun is also written by the same author, you didnt like that one? Also Zhu Xian just came out, it is one of the most highly anticipated donghua for this year. Pity about the subs though.

- If you really want to know Xun'Er's background She comes from one of the eight ancient clans. A very powerful clan, probably the most powerful clan aside from the other one that is behind the Soul Hall. She is the only daughter of the Clan leader, and from her birth she is imbued with a heavenly flame and is given the best skills and techniques. She is literally the princess of her clan since she has the purest clan bloodline. Everyone in the clan believes that one day she will be the most powerful person in the world, which is one of the reason a lot of men are after her
Xiao Yan's clan used to be an ancient clan, until one of his ancestors tried to make the clan more powerful through an experiment, but failed, causing their bloodline to decline which meant their strength as well. Bloodlines is an important theme through the series, but it isnt featured prominently like Qi or alchemy

- As for Medusa During season 5, she gets trapped with Xiao Yan, in the novel she gets raped by Xiao Yan that was overwhelmed with Qi and loses his awareness and will, his instincts takes over, she becomes his first wife later on and bears him a daughter

Also, most of the series are too short, so I lose interest really quick. I notice that you like series with good story lines, I like that too but with more action. Also, what I’m starting to love about china’s anime, the MC isn’t stupid and shouts for no reason, I appreciate that. Japan needs to take some lessons on that aspect. Most of Japan anime MC is usually stupid, shouts a lot and annoying. I’ll go watch the ones you recommended now and see how it goes

I also like main characters that are consistent with their personalities, of course sometimes some deviation is expected but too much really annoys me. Also repetitive plot devices makes me drop the series as well.

Take Wu Shang Shen Di for example. ignoring the CG quality, it started great, so I went and read the novel, and I was half way through and I dropped the novel. The author kept repeating and rinsing the plot. MC gets strong, gets a wife or girlfriend, then enemies appears, takes wife or wife goes missing or sick or whatever, mc gets defeated, disappears and recovers strength in a new location or realm. MC finds new wife, same thing happens again for about 5 times, gets defeated, lose wife *sigh* The most annoying aspect is the fact that before all this, mc was a dedicated cultivator, then all of a sudden after tasting the fruits of women he became horny and dual cultivation starts to become a way of cultivation for him.

The worse donghua I watched and novel I read is Peerless Martial Spirit. It is like the author really hates his MC. MC encounters enemies, gets defeated, he gets stronger, defeats enemies but enemy either escapes or is rescued by another villain. MC gets to kill villain, but not always successful, his friends often gets killed and disciple either commits suicide to save him or dies while trying. He either attracts trouble or trouble finds him.

This is why I like Against the Sky Supreme, main character will kill villains and if he cant he will wait until he can lol. It has flaws I dont disagree but at least it is more enjoyable lol
